Kenya's foreign minister has announced that Russia has agreed to stop recruiting Kenyan nationals to fight in the Ukraine conflict. This development comes after talks in Moscow, where Kenya's Musalia Mudavadi met with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov. According to Mudavadi, the agreement ensures that Kenyans will no longer be eligible for enlistment through Russia's defense ministry. The move aims to address concerns over the recruitment of Kenyans, with reports suggesting that over 1,000 citizens had been lured to fight for Russia in Ukraine. Kenya is also seeking the repatriation of its citizens who wish to return home.
